DR.LEO PARVIS
DIVERSITY AUTHOR, PROFESSOR, PRESENTER, & TRAINER
I began playing violin when I was 11 years old. I started taking lessons from Master Masoud Moarefi in the late 1960s in Abadan, Iran. During those years I enjoyed the techniques of master Parviz Yahaghi and master Siavash Zendegani. Briefly, I had the opportunity to take lessons from Assadollah Malek in Tehran. Educational endeavors were my priority so I had limited opportunity to pursue playing the violin. My favorite types of music are: traditional Persian, international/Mediterranean, Latin, and Jazz/Blues. Recently with the help of my 14 year-old nephew Cyrus, I created a webcast to honor my favorite Persian violinists--master Parviz Yahaghi and master Sivash Zendegani.
