My Poems

A Father Writes to His Son

Emotional disturbance is a
door to a garden of thorns.
The darkness is not the healing site.
Your mind, body and soul
need to depart from fear and despair.
Open the door to see the glorious horizon.
I say to you about great people
who never give up trying.
My dear son, we are alive for a reason.
Bring the coolness of the sea,
swing in the breeze of the spring,
Give away the pale color of desire, and
Acquire the redness of the fire.
To excel and win you need a soul mate.
Do a favor to yourself and carpet
the path to the future-
So you can flourish your heart and soul;
And seek for an ongoing happiness.

A Soul Mate for Life

In the daylight of June
you appeared as an angel
to revive my chaotic life
I whispered to our creator
for your presence
So you can give me love, caring
and the power to vanish
the dark cloud lingering
This distress revealed to be the cause of
depression, despair, and misery
How peaceful it is the moment
the sunshine replaces an overwhelming
darkness
Now that you are a miraculous gift
to my life
I praise the Lord for bringing you
to my world
Should one decide to end the loneliness,
conventional wisdom decrees one to pray
for a soul mate for life

Along the Giant Rhine

Along The Giant Rhine
A river flows,
A dynamic entity,
Which brings love and life,
Plants grow along,
Creatures are attracted towards--
For which continuity is the matter of life;
As the saying goes,
Loving is an art,
And art has to be praised,
To me, love is easy to gain
But when you have it, it is hard to retain,
Will this eventually work out well?
The relationship we built through bells!
We can leave it to the time,
Our signs are compatible,
Sagittarius and Leo,
The rest is the matter of hope and belief,
With this glow, along the Giant Rhine.

I'm innocent

Like a wounded bird returning to its nest
Like a runaway child in a Vietnam fire
Like a cottage besieged by nature's rage
Like a turtle trapped in a swamp
Like a car buried in an avalanche
Like a victim imprisoned by mistake
Like a newborn baby abandoned on a doorstep
Like a homeless person caught in torrential rains
Like a broken branch floundering in a flooded river
Like a boat afloat in a storm tossed sea
Like a tired farmer toiling at the crack of dawn
Like a deer trapped in a hunter's snare
Like a citizen fleeing his homeland
Like a nation hijacked by terrorists
Like a land hit by famine
Like a soldier sent miles away from home
Like a kidnapped toddler plight sensationalized in the news
Innocent! ! I'm innocent! I am innocent!

In the Memory of a Cherished Soul

A lightening flame
A dazzling moonlight
A sea of jewels
A human with dignity and richness
In a societal obscurity
Collapsed on the relentless dirt
A pain added to the pains
A sadness adhered to sorrows
Relatives and friends waling
Acquaintances and strangers gave sympathy
All remarkable years demolished
Who is responsible for this tragedy?
In a premise where life has no meaning
One must suffer and await a pouring rain
Or be patient for blossoms to bloom
And light shed on darkness
Oh "mother" the death of your daughter
Is a world of sorrow. Cry calmly,
The price of tears is null in no land
But your precious beloved is in heaven

My Little Black Shoes

We were going to a wedding, so excited!
My parents, my uncle, and I
Three adults and a little boy
A small union ready to enjoy
On a Saturday night
What happened to my brother?
Was he coming with us?
He'd better not, I wanted the whole attention
To myself, and my new shoes
I was wearing my little black shoes
My mother bought them for me
So crowded, so much noise, dance and music
But, I didn't care
My shoes were my happiness
Perhaps my companions laughed at me
Since I wiped them off every second
I celebrated my new shoes
Away from the big world
With care and exhilaration
within my small world

The Diversity of Life

Life is a flower-bed
A joy, a loss, up and down
Rolling on the green hills,
bouncing through the air
touching the water waves
Sometimes quiet, often crowded
Occasional misery,
poured with hope, laughter, or crying
Loaded with emotions and devotions
With love and affection,
come fun and celebration
One can cherish the time
with a good sip of wine
One may end the day with a loaf of bread
One sleeps on sidewalks of India
One enjoys the beauty of Austria
In the eyes of a wise-man, life is a flea-market
Let it be this way,
I move on with hope on this blended globe

The Scene of Devotion

On the cobble stones of my small town
I saw a little girl playing around.
Going through the leaves of early fall
she gathered whole bunches of leaves
and throwing them into the air.
A fun play that she enjoyed so much.
Her mother was watching her from the distance.
I was sitting on a bench reading
the "Morning Poems" of Robert Bly
and observing the scene of devotion.
The mother asked the little girl
"Why are you throwing
the leaves into the air?"
Don't you have a better play to show
She replied promptly:
"I am helping the wind Mom."
Come and play with me.
Wind will appreciate it too.
"My teacher told me, anything that falls down should go up anyway."

Valentine's Day

Through the brightness of glow
In the covered ground of snow
Here comes the day
For connection, and
Celebration of joyful life
Rejoicing the bound
Togetherness and romance
Fourteenth day of Feb
The glorious Valentine's day
For two of us to never betray
Today, tomorrow, and everyday
